Ireland: Song Titles Revealed

In the past couple of weeks, there has been a lot of speculation over the acts which will be competing to represent Ireland in the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest which will ultimately be taking place in Baku, Azerbaijan this coming May. It was announced by the tabloids that many did not want to enter because they felt like the competition is quite one sided even though the Irish broadcaster has once again made it clear that the focus of the result will be on the decision of the jury who have been given 2/3 of the final weighing as opposed to the other 1/3 which belongs to the public who will surely vote for the 2011 representatives; Jedward who were chosen by mentor Linda Martin to compete in this years' edition of the Late Late Show Eurosong Special which will be taking place on the 24th February 2012.

The acts have been rather revealing themsleves to the public in fact starting off with Jedward and then followed by Donna McCaul who are two former representatives of Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest. Joining them later on was none other than the duet between David Shannon & Una Gibney, followed by Maria McCool and then Andrew Mann. Many had been expecting a somewhat better list when considering that last year, the country finished in the top ten but as soon as Jedward were called in for another try, others decided that they would not be in the best chance to represent Ireland. Nevertheless, the quality of the songs has been said to be of a very high standard so one could only wait and see but at this point in time, our Irish collaborator, Keith Mills from All Kinds of Everything has just published the song-titles through his official Facebook Page and we would like to keep you posted hence, here they are:

  1. Maria McCool - Tears Of An Angel
  2. Donna McCaul - Rocket Launch
  3. David Shannon & Una Gibney - Language Of Love
  4. Andrew Mann - Here I Am
  5. Jedward - On Top Of The World

It is thought that the Irish broadcaster responsible for the countries' participation in the Eurovision Song Contest therefore also responsible for hosting the event a total of seven (7) ties on Irish soil, the last of which coming back in 1997, will be making a number of revelations tomorrow as they  officially announce the acts and the songs that they will be performing alongside the songwriters who will all be equally promoted. Therefore stay tuned to ESCflashmalta for all of the latest news from Ireland and all of the other competing nations in the upcoming musical event as it is made available for everyone to know about.
