The Irish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest has always been an interesting showcase in the past couple of years and the broadcaster has been altering their routes every now and then in the hope of achieving success. For yet another year, the very first time that the competing artists will premier their songs to the public will be during the Mooney Show. The special broadcaster will be on the 9th February through RTE Radio. There have been many speculations about the artists whom the mentors have chosen including the revelation of confirmed acts and those who declined.

The declines were much more disappointing due to the fact that for yet another year there will be Jedward competing and it looks like they are favourites to represent the Emerald Isle for yet another time. Also confirming her participation within the Irish Eurosong is none other than former Eurovision Song Contest representative Donna McCaul. The other three acts are still unconfirmed but according to reliable sources, they are none other than the Barbarellas and two completely new acts. If this is indeed the case it might be an interesting fight between the well known acts with the newspapers already showcasing the 'Donna versus Jedward' headlines. Stay tuned to ESCflashmalta for more information about the Irish national final.
