Germany: Two Artists Through to the Final

Twice was more than enough for Lena whom in 2011 decided to defend her title as the event moved to the confines of Dusseldorf in Germany. Despite the fact that many people were against her decision, the song she presented entitled 'Taken By A Stranger' was very different to the one she had won the Eurovision Song Contest with in the previous year and it finished in a striking tenth (10th) position at the end of the evening. The Germany broadcaster, ARD, decided to return to the talent show method to pick the entrant although ratings have not been as good as they were back in 2010 when the now superstar Lena was found. Nevertheless though, they have went ahead and have now selected two finalists.

The first time this type of selection was held it featured Lena and Jennifer Braun, two women but this time round it will be Roman Lob against Ornella de Santis, meaning a male against a female and it seems that Germany are heavily favoured to be represented by Roman at this stage having won astounding support by the public. The final whichi is taking place on ARD this Thursday will definitely be an interesting affair as each act will perform three songs with the people at home choosing which is the best song for each performer before ultimately choosing which one of the two, they would like to see representing the 2010 host nation in Baku, Azerbaijan.
