It has not even been a week since Kurt Calleja and his team on stage won the Malta Eurovision Song Contest held at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre but their promotional tour kicks off today as they head to their very first destination being Azerbaijan, the same country which is hosting the annual music extravaganza but it is to be noted that this weekend they will be picking their representative. There has been mixed feelings about the visit noting that the nation will not be voting in the second semi-final where Malta is competing but working on relations will be key during this visit even though there has been a lot of positive acclaim in the past couple of months about the way that Azerbaijan and Malta perceive each other.

The team has been quite busy promoting itself on local shores actually with Kurt Calleja and his team making an appearance at the opening of a leading fashion store in Malta as well as attending a meet and greet for fans at a Vodafone outlet earlier this week. Last night, he was also on the popular television programme; Xarabank hosted by Peppi Azzopardi which featured a number of clips from the 2012 edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest as well as a number of interesting performances including ones by Claudia Faniello and Amber who both sang in a duet with Kurt Calleja. The renowned local performer will be going to Azerbaijan this morning along with the rest of his entourage and a representative of the Public Broadcasting Services, presumably his manager; Peter Carbonaro.

Apart from performing the song 'This Is The Night', he will also be singing last years' entry 'Over and Over' as well as a song with Ell of the 2011 winning duo of the Eurovision Song Contest. During the same programme, it was confirmed that Kurt will continue working with renowned vocal coach Joshua Alamu who has worked with the likes of Joss Stone, Westlife, All Saints, Will Young and Daniel Bedingfield amongst others. We would like to wish Kurt Calleja and the rest of his team the very best of luck in their very first promotional visit hoping that come May, it would bear fruit in some way or another.
