The Granaries in Floriana is one of the largest outdoor venues which the country can provide and has recently played host to the annual summer concert given by Joseph Calleja alongside a series of guests including; Gianluca, Zucchero, Rebecca Ferguson, Tenishia and Riccardo Cocciante. Over the next four days, a flurry of activity is set to encompass the scene in celebration of Independence Day which is celebrated on the 21st September. Miss Roberta, Chiara and Airport Impressions are the three acts included in this evenings' line-up and preparing the public for tomorrows' Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza which features twenty (20) original songs in Maltese along with a couple of special guests such as; Gianluca and Deborah C.

Kicking off the proceedings at around 18:30 CET is none other than Miss Roberta who had previously accompanied Fabrizio Faniello during his performance of the self-penned I Do at the Malta Song for Europe back in 2006. Following in her footsteps will be none other than Chiara who represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest on three occasions, finishing in third place with The One That I Love in 1998, in second place with Angel in 2005 and in twenty-second place with What If We in 2009. The act set to bring the curtain down is Airport Impressions, made up of Errol, Johann, Chris and Steve, who in turn are currently busy preparing for the release of their sophomore studio album later on this year. Stay tuned to for all of the latest news.
