Malta: Olivia Lewis Planning Debut Album Release

Olivia Lewis, Malta’s representative at the 2007 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest with the track Vertigo composed by Philip Vella to the lyrics of Gerard James Borg is set to release her debut album as stated during an exclusive interview on Lejn Il-Festival, a radio programme hosted by Daniel and Charlene on Radju Kottoner. The renowned female vocalist is returning to the local music scene following an absence of around six years, having disappeared after failing to get through to the final of the international spectacle.

During the interview with Daniel and Charlene, she stated that her debut album, will comprise of a number of songs in Maltese will feature both originals such as Fil-Fond tal-Qalb and Hawn Mill-Ġdid composed by Paul Abela to the lyrics of Joe Julian Farrugia as well as a number of cover versions of famous tracks. This means that the local music industry will be seeing to the release of two studio albums, including those of Corazon and Olivia Lewis, both stalwarts of the scene. An interview with Olivia Lewis is set to appear on within the next couple of days as part of our promotional project in support of the International Festival of Maltese Song.
